Research & Analytics

We started with the exact number of people who searched for relevant services and which queries they were most likely to use. We also clarified how often they searched for these phrases and refined our list of keywords. We grouped queries by categories to create a semantic core that we knew could drive sales for Delta K9 Academy.

We analyzed the competition and their SEO strategies. After defining the market players, we looked at the tactics used to land on the first page of Google (e.g., number of pages, backlinks, keywords, etc.). This gave us a better idea of how wide the gap was, so we could gauge just how much work was needed to catch up.

Semantic Core / Site Creation

Perhaps unsurprisingly, ‘dog training’ was the keyword that we decided to optimize. We ensured that our URLs were optimized for these big searches, so prospective customers were more likely to find and contact Delta K9 Academy.

We also highlighted keywords with smaller search volumes, such as ‘obedience training’, and concentrated on how we could blend these words into content and site structure without overstepping the queries with larger volumes.

Frontend Development and On-Site Optimization

At this stage, we worked to fix some of the more technical aspects of our client’s website:

  • Inner links: Onsite navigation is a major factor for SEO. The site needs to be able to flow logically and easily so customers can find what they need.
  • Page optimization: Tags, images, headlines, descriptions, titles: they all factor into the experience of a website. The better the experience for the visitor, the higher the page rank.
  • Load time: Minimizing load time means the website is quick and responsive, a benefit that Google wants to promote.
  • Robots.txt/sitemap.xml: These two tools can help sites organize links, cut down on duplicate content, and give the most important pages priority.

Indexation & Google Analytics Setup

We submitted the website for indexing so Google bots would be able to crawl it, and we also set up analytics to track user behavior. This way, we could see how long people were on the website, when and where they left it, and how many visits were converted to sales. This helped us decide how we could better persuade them to stay on the website for longer or take action to get in touch with the company.

We helped Delta K9 Academy improve its blog with posts about everything from dog food myths to police dog facts.
